The common cold has defied medical science for thousands of years; it has outfoxed mankind’s immune system and the pharmaceutical industry’s research for an untold number of years.

Until now, there has been no cure for the common cold and the most significant thing you could do to the ease the misery was drink plenty of fluids to keep your body hydrated. This helped prevent other unwanted infections from setting in.

According to Virus research specialist Prof. Sam-Bo Smitts, of the Royal London College in the U K, “the  biggest problem with defeating the Common Cold was establishing a fool-proof method to get the better of the huge family of ‘rhinoviruses’ which harbor hundreds of variants －a circumstance which made vaccination an impossibility while dealing with the human body’s immune system; a challenging task on its best day”.

In the simplest of terms, Smitts and his research team discovered that by combining a few protein molecules, a new compound that blocks a specific enzyme found in all human cells called  N-myristoyltransferase (NMT) could be used as a method for “shielding” the NMT enzyme.  This being important because. . .

It turns out that all variations of the Cold Virus require NMT to create a protective shell around their own genetic information; without it, they cannot replicate and spread. Hence, blocking or shielding the release of NMT enzymes quickly destroys all strains of the Common Cold Virus!

The really good news is that the protein molecules needed to create the new NMT shielding compound is easily accessible and surprisingly inexpensive . . . The other good news is that the new compound is equally effective in defeating other virus related diseases such as hand-foot-and-mouth disease (a mild but transmissible viral infection common to young children); and the most recent strain of COVID-19.

The really bad news: It may take as many as ten (10) years for this new medication to be approved by the US Government’s FDA which must first determine that the drug’s health benefits outweigh its risks!
